Installing the Template

1. Go to your GTM workspace

2. Navigate to the “Templates” tab

3. In the “Tag Template” section:

4. Click the “Search Gallery” button in the top right corner

5. Click the search icon and type “Join Stories - Checkout Tracking Code

6. Click the matching template

7. Click “Add to workspace”

Using the template

  1. From the GTM workspace, go to the “Tags” tab

  2. Create a new tag using the button in the “Tags” section

3. Click the “Tag Configuration” section

4. Select the added tag template: “Join Stories - Checkout Tracking Code” under the “Custom” section

5. Fill in the fields with their corresponding values

6. For the value table “Product mapping keys”:

a. Enter the appropriate key based on your dataset for each value.
For example, if in your product data the price is under the key price, enter price in product_price

7. In the “Advanced Settings”:

  1. Go to “Tag Sequencing”

  2. Check “Fire a tag before this tag fires”

  3. Select the tag using “Join Stories - Global Script”

  4. Check “Don’t fire Join Stories - Global Script if the selected tag fails or is paused”

8. Add additional parameters if needed

9. Set up the trigger on your checkout page

10. Save your tag

Add to Cart Tracking Code

Using the template

  1. From the GTM workspace, go to the “Tags” tab

  2. Create a new tag using the button in the “Tags” section

3. Click the “Tag Configuration” section

4. Select the added tag template: “Join Stories - Add to Cart Tracking Code” under the “Custom” section

5. Fill in the fields with their corresponding values

6. In the “Advanced Settings”:

  • Go to “Tag Sequencing”

  • Check “Fire a tag before this tag fires”

  • Select the tag using “Join Stories - Global Script”

  • Check “Don’t fire Join Stories - Global Script if the selected tag fails or is paused”

7. Add additional parameters if needed

8. Set up the trigger on your add-to-cart page

9. Save your tag
